🌟 About the Role
The IBM Systems Development Lab (ISDL) works on next-generation processors powering IBM Z Systems (Mainframe) and IBM Power Systems.
As a Hardware Engineer, you will work on cutting-edge semiconductor technologies including 5nm, 3nm and beyond, contributing to the development of high-performance enterprise processors.
This role provides hands-on exposure to the entire processor development lifecycle.
💼 Key Responsibilities
Work on processor chip design and development
Participate in design, verification, and validation of hardware components
Contribute to Pre-Silicon and Post-Silicon validation
Support physical design, EDA tools, and memory characterization
Collaborate with global teams on next-generation processor technologies
Work with Agile, Design Thinking, and DevOps development models
🔧 Required Technical Skills
Digital Logic Design
Computer Architecture
Knowledge of RISC-V or processor pipeline architecture
Understanding of VLSI design flow and semiconductor processes
Knowledge of custom circuits, analog and digital logic design
Understanding of memory technologies
Programming / scripting skills in Python or Perl

Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
Good communication and interpersonal skills
Master’s Degree in VLSI Design / Electronics / Computer Science Engineering (preferred)
